Spring window cleaning is easier to quote when the property owner separates ordinary surface soil from damage, deposits, seal problems, and work outside a basic glass-cleaning scope. A room-by-room and exterior walkaround can identify what needs attention before furniture, screens, weather, or access affects the appointment.

Inspect the glass in changing light

Look at each window from inside and outside when practical. Dust, fingerprints, dried water spots, and exterior film may become more visible from one direction or at a different time of day. Mark panes with unusual residue so they can be discussed before service.

Also record pre-existing conditions:

  • Cracks, chips, or scratches
  • Condensation or haze between panes
  • Loose frames, damaged seals, or deteriorated glazing
  • Torn screens or bent frames
  • Peeling tint, film, decals, or adhesive residue
  • Mineral deposits, paint, or construction material on the glass

Cleaning can address compatible soil on accessible glass. It cannot correct failed insulated glass, repair frames, reverse scratches, or guarantee that every deposit can be removed safely.

Define interior and exterior scope

“Window cleaning” can mean different things to different customers. Specify whether the request includes exterior glass, interior glass, entry doors, storm windows, divided panes, basement windows, garage glass, skylights, or glass railings.

Ask separately about frames, sills, tracks, screens, blinds, shades, decals, or paint and construction debris. These items may require extra time, different methods, or a separate decision after inspection. They should not be assumed from a count of the main panes.

Prepare indoor access

Clear light, fragile, or personal items from reachable sills and the area directly in front of included windows. Open curtains or blinds if they can be operated safely, and tell the estimator about treatments that are delicate, damaged, or difficult to move.

Keep pets and children away from active work areas. Identify alarm sensors, locked rooms, furniture that will remain in place, and surfaces that need protection. Heavy, loaded, connected, or fragile furniture should not be assumed to be movable.

If a window cannot be reached because of permanent furniture or another obstacle, discuss whether it will be excluded or handled with a different accessible method.

Review exterior access and weather

Exterior scope depends on ground conditions, height, landscaping, fences, locked gates, rooflines, overhead obstacles, parked vehicles, and pedestrian traffic. Make sure the crew knows about restricted areas and property rules.

Weather can affect timing and method. High wind, lightning, precipitation, freezing conditions, or unsafe footing may require the appointment to be adjusted. A spring date is not a guarantee that every exterior area will be accessible under the conditions present.

Count by type, not only by room

For a useful estimate, provide photographs and counts grouped by window type. Note divided panes, double doors, high glass, screens, storm units, and difficult-access locations. A wide picture of each side of the building can help show height and obstacles; close photos can document unusual residue or damage.

Confirm:

  • Which sides and levels are included
  • Interior, exterior, or both
  • Screen and track expectations
  • Access times and locked areas
  • Items the customer will move
  • Conditions that should be evaluated rather than promised

All Clean Solutions can review that checklist and prepare a case-specific spring window-cleaning estimate for Bismarck, Mandan, and nearby properties. Final scope, method, availability, and expected results depend on the glass, condition, access, weather, and approved work.
