Wait until the dust-producing work is actually finished
A final clean works best after cutting, sanding, drilling, demolition, and punch-list repairs are complete. If a contractor still needs to sand drywall or trim a doorway after the cleaners leave, fine dust can settle across the finished rooms again.
Before scheduling, confirm which rooms are released, whether tools and material piles will remain, which utilities are available, and whether the contractor has removed sharp debris and construction waste. A cleaning estimate should not quietly assume that hauling building material, scraping paint, or correcting contractor damage is included.
Walk the property from high to low
Post-construction dust settles on more than floors. Start the inspection at the top of each room and work downward so cleaned lower surfaces are not covered again.
Common collection points include:
- Tops of doors, cabinets, partitions, and window frames
- Light fixtures, ceiling fans, pipes, and exposed ledges that can be safely reached
- Shelving, closets, drawer interiors, and cabinet interiors included in the quote
- Baseboards, trim profiles, outlet and switch-plate surfaces
- Window glass, tracks, sills, and frames
- Accessible vent covers and the wall or ceiling immediately around them
- Carpet edges, hard-floor corners, and areas protected by temporary coverings
The surface matters. Drywall powder on an unfinished concrete floor is handled differently from dust on painted walls, wood cabinetry, electronics, or a newly coated floor. Test an appropriate method before applying moisture or pressure to a large area.
Use more than one pass when the condition requires it
Fine particles can become airborne during the first cleaning and settle later. A useful plan may include controlled dry removal, detailed wiping with a surface-appropriate method, and a final floor pass after higher surfaces are complete. That does not mean every job automatically needs the same number of visits. Room size, dust load, ventilation, access, and the level of finish expected all affect the scope.
Replace or clean reusable cloths and vacuum collection components as they load up. Moving the same dust from one room to another defeats the purpose of the detail work.
Separate surface cleaning from HVAC work
Dust on an accessible register cover can be included in a room-cleaning scope. Dust or debris inside the duct system, a new airflow problem, unusual equipment noise, or material blowing from an opening should be evaluated by a qualified HVAC or air-duct professional.
All Clean Solutions does not advertise interior air-duct cleaning. We also do not recommend inserting a household vacuum, wet tool, or chemical into ductwork. If construction controls failed and the system may have pulled in substantial debris, the property owner or contractor should arrange the appropriate mechanical inspection.
Build a closeout checklist by room
Instead of asking whether the building is “clean,” define what ready means:
- Which rooms and surfaces are included?
- Are interior cabinets, appliances, glass, walls, or fixtures part of the scope?
- Who removes stickers, adhesive, paint, grout haze, or protective film?
- Who moves remaining equipment and material?
- Are photographs or a walkthrough requested and practical?
- Does another trade need to approve its own work before cleaning begins?
A final walkthrough with the customer, when available, is the best time to identify missed access points or new dust from work completed after the estimate.
